Take a trip to the beach every Tuesday at 11:30 am with Balance! Balance is a brand new 30-minute health and wellness variety show that features topics from physical fitness tips to health news. Each week a prominent wellness-related guest from Los Angeles will also grace the Balance beach set to talk about and demonstrate what they know and do best.
Meet Our Producers and Hosts:
Emily Thornburg
My name is Emily Thornburg and I am co-host of Balance this semester ! I am a junior majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the University of Southern California. I love Balance because I learn new health and wellness tips each week whether they be physical, spiritual or emotional.Balance gives me a chance to grow as a person while also informing viewers. I also love to exercise among my favorite routines are Yoga and Zumba. Besides Balance I am also the manager of marketing and promotions for Trojan Vision.
After college I hope to obtain a job with CNN as an international reporter!
Joel Kutz
Joel Kutz is a junior at USC and the co-host of Balance for Spring 2013. To Joel, health and wellness encompasses a holistic approach and a complete lifestyle. Currently, he is training to run his first marathon, experimenting with weening sugar out of his diet, and establishing a habit of waking up at the same time every morning.

Kiersten Stanley
Born in Pueblo, CO and raised in Virginia Beach, VA, Kiersten attended high school in Nashville, TN, and considers Music City home. In high school, Kiersten played Varsity and travel softball and edited the school yearbook. Although she misses her parents and younger sister, Kiersten loves Los Angeles. As a freshman Writing for Screen and Television major at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, she hopes to carve a career as a screenwriter after graduation. When she is not senior producing “Balance” or broadcast producing on Wednesday afternoons, Kiersten enjoys writing, baking, hitting the gym, and spending time with family.
Megan Sullivan
Megan Sullivan is a junior at the University of Southern California, majoring in computer science, with a double-minor in 3D animation and cinematic arts. This is her first semester on the Balance team, and she couldn’t be more excited to work with such a friendly and creative group of producers! Theresa Pablos
Theresa Pablos is a junior at the University of Southern California pursuing a B.A. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minoring in Cinematic Arts and Digital Studies. Theresa is heavily involved at Trojan Vision, the campus television station, where she and Laura Coholan are the creators and executive producers of Balance. She also currently serves as a producer for Annenberg Television News.
Theresa is highly interested in film and television production and development. She hopes to work in the entertainment industry upon graduation next May.

Laura Coholan
Laura Coholan and Theresa Pablos created Balance in Spring of 2012 with the vision of creating USC Trojan Vision’s first Health and Wellness show. With Aliyah Abdullah, Laura hosted the show’s first season, and continues to work as the show’s Executive Producer and director for online content and promotions. Laura loves the health and wellness lifestyle, and always infuses her love of yoga, healthy eats and treats, running, and of course, sunshine and happiness, into her daily life. May you do the same!
